Library Trustees Approve Consent Agenda, Seat New Members
Library Board · Meeting of April 14, 2026
Norwood Library trustees welcomed two new members and honored two departing veterans before weighing a digital preservation pledge. Chair Sheri McLeish thanked outgoing trustee Marguerite Cummings, finishing nine years, and absent longtime trustee John R. Hall, while seating new members Christina Stetson and Jennifer Mancuso.
The board unanimously approved a bundled consent agenda covering March and April minutes. Adult Services Librarian Liz Reed said Norwood is "the first library in the state" to partner with the trial courts for virtual access to court services. Library Director Clayton Cheever said the state's Freedom to Read and e-book bills remain stalled in House Ways and Means after passing the Senate.
Trustees will decide at their May 12 meeting whether to sign onto the Future Memory Project, a digital-preservation initiative brought by Michael Mena, and heard that a locally donated 360-degree virtual library tour is nearly complete.
