Norwood School Committee Member Boyle Will Not Seek Reelection After Six Years

NORWOOD — January 28, 2026 — Norwood School Committee member Ann Marie Boyle announced she will not seek reelection after six years, including three as chair, at the board's January 28 business meeting. Boyle, who said she had faced "not so gentle nudging" to run again, called the tenure "a fantastic six years" and said her term will run through the end of March. The committee also received a second-quarter financial report showing the $65.3 million FY26 operating budget projecting a positive balance of approximately $404,000 with no reliance on the special education reserve fund, which now stands at its full amount of $1,580,959. Director of Technology Josh Kidd presented the FY27 technology budget, down roughly $67,000 to approximately $700,000 due to a year without staff laptop replacements, and reported that kindergarten through grade 2 students average about 30 minutes of daily Chromebook use. Superintendent Dr. Marc Luft confirmed Chris Follin has accepted the director of facilities position and that the district will conduct searches for a permanent director of student services and a new elementary principal following Dr. Michael Bollier's appointment as assistant superintendent in Randolph Public Schools. The consent agenda, including four donations totaling $2,785.30, passed four to zero.
